Hugs & Hisses
Valentine's Day Fundraiser
What is a cockroach? According to Google, “it’s a generalized insect lacking special adaptations. Calling a person a roach means they are undesirable, untrustworthy, or unpleasant.” Does this sound familiar? Cockroaches are considered pests. They pose health risks, eat your food, and take up residence where they don’t belong. If this reminds you of that special someone, you’re in the right place. In celebration, or protest, of Valentine's Day this year Lynches River County Park is offering you the opportunity to symbolically name a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach after the nuisance of your choosing.

All proceeds go to support the care of our animal ambassadors.
For $5 you will receive a digital Valentine’s Day card and the satisfaction of knowing what you've done. Additionally, the name of that not-so-special someone will be displayed in the Environmental Discovery Center throughout the month of February.

LRCP reserves the right not to display names that are inappropriate or offensive, and only first names will be displayed. Purchases are symbolic in nature only.
